  6. I found a couple of great ideas from bloggers. Not sure which I'm going with yet! :-)

  7. Our students will have to register to vote. They have to be able to print their full name. We will also have a voting booth and a ballot box.

  8. We're going to be making our own voter registration card and then cast a vote in our ballot box for their favorite story from the previous week.

  9. Just found your blog recently, and have been following for a little while. Your election units look like fun!

  10. We will be creating voter registration cards and walk to the polls to vote for the president. Prior to this students will create lap books that contain information about candidates as well as general information about the election process. They will also watch a few clips I found on YouTube and participate in several read alouds

  11. I created a ballot box on Friday and my plan is have the students vote for something new each day. Then, on Friday we will actually vote between Romney and Obama. Let's Find Out magazine has a great, kid friendly, reader on the two presidents :)

  12. We are going to be reading some election/voting books and write about what they would do if they were president.

  13. Oh, how to discuss this most important event at a 6 year old level? I still remember thinking that Ford and Carter were actually going to be RUNNING in a race to become president... running shorts and all! I love "Duck for President" as an intro to this topic. Our school will be participating in a Mock Election. And your pack? Sure to be a great addition to any discussion!
